The Julia

This painting is made in collaboration with the talented photographer Amir Agaev, who is the ambassador of Nikon Russia. Our goal was to create a sexy, elegant and chic image, with a touch of the ‘Blue Lagoon’ movie vibe.

To shoot the reference picture for this painting, we set up a photoshoot in Bali with Julia Yaroshenko (@thejulia), a famous Russian model. By adding the wetted plastic sheet around her body we created an aesthetically appealing technical painting challenge. We played with the light, using depth and highlights, to create an interesting and mysterious dynamic around her body.

This piece is currently a work in progress, and will be available around May. When finished, this painting will be a true center piece with it’s huge size and impeccable amount of detail.
