Wet Dress

The wet dress represents Roberts’ last acrylic painting. Painting the smooth gradients of the folds in the dress took him to the absolute limits of acrylic paint. Acrylic paint dries in a matter of seconds. This makes it a serious challenge to blend light and dark tones on the canvas, into the smooth gradients needed to make this painting look realistic.
